Diego Faccioli
Diego arrived in Brooklyn in 2000. After 20 years in the restaurant business in Milan and Portofino, Italy, he decided to try New York...and never left! While working in the New York restaurant business, Diego honed his dedication to the ART of wine and food with special attention to the wine buying side of the business. Grapeshot Wine & Spirits in Brooklyn, was born as a natural evolution of Diego's wealth of experience working with people in the hospitality industry in premier cuisine areas of the world and his small town values from growing up in a small village near the city of Cremona in Northern Italy.
Aleksandr Kusin
Originally from Minsk, Belarus, Alex has been in New York for the past 26 years, during which he worked in the entertainment and hospitality industries where he gained experience in wine buying and pairing. Alex is a self proclaimed Italophile since first visiting Italy many years ago. This evolved into a passion; a life fulfilled by an insatiable thirst for experiencing culture through travel, great food, and wine. There is nothing more satisfying in life, to Alex, than a perfectly paired bottle of wine with exquisite cuisine. There is no question about wine that Alex cannot answer!
Simon Jackson-Forsberg
Simon has been with us for over two years now and his list of titles continues to grow with his experience and knowledge of wine. He is a huge history nerd who cherishes wine as a unique mode of exploring and expressing “the river of human history” in every drop. Prior to working at the shop, he had a range of experience in scenic design that lends itself well to our boutique setting. He loves nothing more than to train his palate with coworkers and industry veterans who he has come to regard as close friends, neighbors, and mentors. Our resident gin man will send you home with some new spins on the negroni!
